Earlier in the year on a visit to Fraser Island 'K gari', the red gums gave a presence that stopped you in your tracks. After many photo's and admiring the shades of colour these glorious trees reveal, I took these images and put paint to canvas. Snippets of the browns, reds and crimson come through on the canvas with the contrast of white allowing you to focus only on these brilliant hues. Thick oil paint and minimal oil pastel was used as the raw paint itslef details the bark and its richness of these gorgeous trees.
