early days

My story starts like any artist, a creative kid who loved painting and doing anything “arty”. During my high school years and teens, I dove right into anything that involved escaping allowing me to express my way. A fan of punk, goth and alternative music and what it represented centred my youth around this culture. I found that I could be who I wanted to be with like-minded people, talking about our sadness, emotions and being free against society and what was expected of me.

Travelling Europe and the UK for the good part of a year out of high school I started working and studying in makeup artistry and hairdressing. After that dabble, I fell into the skateboarding industry with my then partner where we had skate shops on the GC and created skateboard brands selling internationally and around Australia.

After our children were born and things fell apart in my marriage, I came back to me and started a new life connecting with who I am and what I loved about life. Art and being a mum.

Since then and the years to follow to now, I have been painting and creating again on a regular basis. I have a new man, lots of pets and my children have since all grown up. They are all creative wonderful humans who also see art, creativity and expression as part of their own lives.

my style

As an abstract expressionism artist, my paintings and artwork are based on emotion, they are pure and personal. They represent how I am feeling in the present time. I don’t have a plan; I paint from within and let the paintings evolve.

Mainly painting on larger canvases my chosen medium is oils, oil sticks and mixed medium of hand stitching. They are messy, moody and are for the viewer to connect with and interpret as they see.

When I paint, I feel complete. Painting and all it brings is a settling feeling for me. My artwork takes time, and many layers are applied. I'm not in a rush but more so to express and paint with every brush stroke; feeling, precision and care.

ahead of me

Presently I am working on a new body of work which will be exhibited September 2026. This collection will be capturing my deeper emotional side of feelings we all keep hidden. It will be confronting and dark. An area that has been wanting me to express for some time.

Earlier in 2025, I completed my studies as an Art Therapy Practitioner and I am now practicing from my studio in Currumbin, upstairs at Studio 8. ‘Breathing In Colour’ is a holistic based art therapy and is for you to get in touch with, express your own emotions in a safe space. Creating goals with a little guidance from me, you will work towards a more positive mind set. Think of it as journaling without words but through many art forms and finding answers from within.

I also offer expressionism-based workshops and Steiner based watercolour workshops in small intimate groups. Allowing you to recapture your creativity that sometimes we lose when we are younger.

You are creative, you have just forgotten how.
